GAIN Assessments
The Global Appraisal of Individual Needs (GAIN) assessment measures the scope of issues related to substance use disorder and the utilization of services. It is most useful during the first steps of treatment and as a mile marker for progress. It takes approximately 3.5 hours to complete and is done on-site in Trivium’s offices; our staff are certified in administering GAIN assessments. All court-ordered clients are mandated by the State to complete a GAIN assessment.
CANS Assessment
The Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) assessment is designed as a multi-purpose tool for assessing children and adolescents for service planning. Completing the assessment, which may take up to 2 hours, helps us determine the right treatment plan for youths and their families. Trivium's staff are certified in the administration of this assessment.
Trivium currently offers GAIN Assessment Services and CANS Assessment Services in our Boise and Caldwell, Idaho locations.
